Clash plays catch up with the week’s most fashionable headlines (or something to that effect).

Ann Demeulemeester – the Belgium designer who made her name as part of the Antwerp Six, having studied at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1981 – this week announced her resignation from her own name label.

Via a PDF of a handwritten letter she stated, “A new time is coming both for my personal life and the brand Ann Demeulemeester.” The label – which Demeulemeester started in 1985 – will show its men’s and women’s AW14 collections together in Paris next February.

Yesterday the label’s fourth collaboration with the brand dropped in Topshop, now Meadham Kirchhoff are set to show at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Taking part in the Fashion in Motion series, which has previously seen names such as Peter Jensen and Gareth Pugh partake, the show will happen on Friday 6th December with four time slots available.

Fashion in Motion is an ongoing series at the museum, which brings the excitement of a catwalk show to the general public.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance; they are available from Monday 25th November.

On Wednesday Mary Katrantzou was announced as the latest addition to the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN committee.

The designer – who herself has benefitted from the sponsorship programme since 2009 – is the first designer to join. Speaking of the appointment she noted, “NEWGEN is an unparalleled scheme and its an honour to be included on the panel.”

Her first job will be helping to decide which designers receive NEWGEN for Autumn Winter 14.

And finally, last night saw skate brand Palace release news of a Christmas pop-off on Shoreditch High Street.

The label’s temporary store will be open from 29th November until 14th December for ‘yuletide shopping opportunities’.

Stock will include limited edition Palace Reebok trainers, hoodies, tees and more.
