The Italian label taps the artist for AW15.

Playing a different game to many of its contemporaries – the label’s first Instagram post (one of just nine) was only a fortnight ago – O.Ballou this season taps Spanish artist Albert Riera for a look book that marries commercial with a thoroughly creative aesthetic.

Originally set up by Simon Cato in 2013, AW15 sees the proudly Italian label drop a new selection of core knitwear pieces in both cashmere and purest merino wool.

Adhering to luxury standards, Cato has sourced yarn exclusively from, according to accompanying notes, one the oldest and most respected mills found in the Italian region of Pledmont.

Elsewhere the Sicillia T-shirt makes its debut, produced in double-mercerised cotton (a.k.a the good stuff) and boasting a casual relaxed fit.

For his part Riera plays model, shot by Errol Rainey, surrounded by photos, scribbles and artworks of his own doing; the result prescribes a mood that riffs on both the contemporary and the nostalgic.
