The skate label takes on the iconic film.

You don’t have to be familiar with ‘Yellow Submarine’ as any more than a song your parents played when you were growing up, or even a fan of The Beatles, to appreciate the new collaboration from Vans.

The former both help – plus there’s that thing called authenticity – but as a shoe the four styles from the Off The Wall people are joyous, bright coloured, highly patterned pieces in their own right.

Released two years after the Vans Classics in 1968, the foursome’s animated film (introduced above), is the focal point of the new range, the first of its kind. Artwork and song titles featured are seen on styles such as the Sk8-Hi Reissue, the Classic Slip-On, the Era and the Authentic.

Like the film from which they take their inspiration, the footwear options are a vocal choice for music and colour fans alike, be your dress sense Susie Bubble loud or moderate to the point of neutral.

A new move for The Beatles – or people behind their trademark – the collaboration follows successful hook ups for Vans with the likes of Kenzo, Disney, Playboy and the recently announced Comme des Garcons SHIRT capsule, proving (if proof be needed) the label’s credentials as top of their game.

Available from 17th March.
