The brand hooks up with Kingston University to create a special piece for Wool Week.
Topman Wool Week

Timed almost perfectly, Wool Week 2013 has struck just as Facebook feeds and Twitter timelines have filled with the news that Britain is on the verge of ‘the worst winter in decades’ (thanks tabloids).

A choice fabric for such a setting, non?

Taking part in the inaugural Campaign for Wool, this year Topman teamed up with Kingston University to create a piece to be sold in-store during the campaign. The brand asked students to design a piece of knitwear that kept to the theme of ‘knitwear traditions of the British Isles’.

Trina Outram’s ‘Diamonds Crew’ design was handpicked by Gordon Richardson, Topman’s Design Director, as the winner. He called it “the perfect fit for Topman,” later adding, “her design fitted in perfectly with what’s big for us this season with our sportier skate trends.”

On sale from today, the jumper is made of a yarn with 80% wool content; 5% of sales from the garment will go back into fashion education programmes within the UK.
