A pick of the best...
South London Ordnance

ClashMusic might run its own DJ mix series, but that doesn't mean we're not looking beyond our borders.

The team are continually scouring SoundCloud, MixCloud and any other clouds for new sounds, debating over the merits of each mix as we lunge towards the stereo. To see out the week, Felicity Martin picks the best of the bunch to go live in the past seven days.

Circadian Rhythms on NTS – Facta Guestmix

Circadian Rhythms are Blackwax and Last Japan – a few producers consistently keeping things dark. On their inaugural show on NTS radio, they got young east London producer Facta along to whip up a guest mix. Brimming with grimy dubs and filth-ridden flavours, there’s a track from Wen, whose ‘Commotion’ recently caused quite a stir in the Clash office as well as dubs from Oscar Henson aka Facta himself, a young producer who flits between London and, unsurprisingly, Bristol. With deep, dank vibes like these, the beatsmith is undoubtedly one to keep an eye or two out for.

South London Ordnance – Boiler Room 40 min set

On this snippet from the Hotflush Boiler Room showcase, fresh bassman South London Ordnance went deckside to deliver a flawless set of deep electro, with a track from his latest 12”, ‘Transmission Funk’ alongside cuts by Midland, Boddika and Jon Convex, as well as Bleak’s astonishingly good ‘Ekko’. Big tings ahead for the badman that is SLO.

Colours 39 with Mickey Pearce and Éclair Fifi on Red Light Radio

Broadcasting live from an old prostitution window in the heart of Amsterdam’s Red Light district is Red Light Radio, and the 2nd of March saw Swamp81’s Mickey Pearce and LuckyMe’s Éclair Fifi step up and throw down some first-rate jams. Highlights include a Kaytrananda remix of Missy Elliot’s ‘Sock it to Me’, a brief slow jam interlude, then plenty of footwork topped off by cuts from Rockie Fresh and Cashmere Cat. Two hours of musical bliss.
