The contents of her bookshelf...

When Clash caught up with Zuzu last year the conversation quickly turned to books.

A self-confessed book work, the Mersey talent is forever burrowing into a new tome on the tour bus, often returning to her favourites as a source of inspiration.

Literate and whip-smart, her songwriting matches curious word play to some snappy riffs, recalling everyone from Elastica to Weezer in the process.

Set to play the Fender Next stage at The Great Escape in Brighton tomorrow night (May 9th), Clash caught up with Zuzu to find out what's on her bookshelf these days...

J.K. Rowling - Harry Potter

Okay I know I’m late to the party on this one... I never used to understand what all the fuss was about Harry Potter until I decided to read the books.

I am now completely obsessed. I urge you to read them if you haven’t already, they are magical as fudge.

F. Scott Fitzgerald - Tender Is The Night

I LOVE F. Scott Fitzgerald, his writing style is just so beautiful. This is a really dark book but one of my all-time favourite classics. A great book to read in the sun from a bygone era.

Herman Hesse - Siddhartha

This is another one of my favourites, I read it when I was in India so was a great setting. It’s one that makes you think, it’s only short but it deep. Gets better every time you read it.

BATGIRL DC REBIRTH

I recently bought one of the 2017 series of the batgirl comics and loved it. Super fun to read and such great artwork.

Mrs Hinch - Hinch Yourself Happy

Mrs Hinch if you don’t already know her from her Instagram army, is a super lovable lady who somehow makes cleaning up seem fun. Her book is great, a light-hearted read.
