Are they distancing themselves from their founder?

So, that was Bloc.

The dance promoters fought back from near disaster after their Pleasure Gardens debacle, winning praise for their return to the holiday format.

This year's Butlins adventure will be their last, and founder George Hull decided to mark the occasion with an incendiary blast at the new generation of ravers with an article in The Spectator.

The article caused an enormous online row, with Bloc now issuing an official follow-on statement.

It opens with the clarification that Hull's view "doesn't represent Bloc" before thanking fans for their support and well-being during the final Butlins weekender.

"Bloc extends a welcoming vibe to every single person who comes together to share in the experience. The vibe at every single rave, big or small, for the past ten years is testament to that. The kind of people who choose to go is testament to that."

"We were blown away by the crowd at this year's weekender and want to sincerely thank you all. As we've signed off for more than a decade: love, power, respect, admiration - to you all."
