Bringing ‘Carry On The Grudge’ to the masses…

The return of Jamie T has been one of 2014’s British music highlights, the five-year gap between album two, ‘Kings & Queens’, and late September’s ‘Carry On The Grudge’ being one where many a man was heard to wonder: “Just where is that ‘Shelia’ lad?”

Turns out the Wimbledon-born songwriter was working on a very strong third LP. Charting at four in the UK, and enjoying overseas success too, ‘Carry On The Grudge’ drew positive press from across the critical spectrum. Clash called the collection “a profound and purgative experience”, awarding it eight from 10 – find that full review here

Evidently fans, Clash dispatched photographer Danny Payne to Manchester Academy to capture Jamie’s performance of November 7th. A 22-song set saw him play a number of ‘Carry On The Grudge’ numbers, including singles ‘Zombie’ and ‘Don’t Find You’. But the album most mined for setlist content was debut ‘Panic Prevention’ – Jamie played eight songs from said LP, such as ‘Calm Down Dearest’, ‘So Lonely Was The Ballad’ and ‘If You Got The Money’.
