West London’s rising star AMA is riding a fresh wave of experimental beats on her debut EP 'Screenluv'.

A concoction of six love songs, the 19-year-old singer-songwriter talked Clash through the mechanics of 'Screenluv' here, and dug into how being a millennial constantly plugged into technology has influenced her music.

Following the blow up of her 2018 single, ‘Monochrome’ and her February 2019 release, ‘Slip,’ AMA has also linked with some acclaimed producers - such as Pasque, Jarreau Vandal and Karma Kid - to create 'Screenluv'.

Having worked on the EP for a year and a half, she emphasises how vital this support has been: “It’s definitely exciting when I hear a person whose quite established wants to work with me, makes me think I’m doing something right.”

And despite collaboration being an important part of her process, AMA wrote the entirety of 'Screenluv' herself - demonstrating an impressive knack for songwriting. ‘Real’ and ‘Crystal’ have already dropped, as some of the project's standouts. “The guy I was working with said this track was really good, ‘You need to release it as a single’,” the artist says, excitedly. It's clearly a body of work very close to her heart.

Don't miss AMA performing to a packed out hometown crowd on 5th May, this will be a show for the annals.

Tune in...
