The Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award is all set to return for the sixth time with potential winners to be announced at an intimate gig in Glasgow’s famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.
The event will take place on August 1st where the SAY’s longlist will be revealed in front of a live audience with performances from Stina Tweeddale of Honeyblood and Carla J. Easton of TeenCanteen.
Former Delgados singer and Chemikal Underground records co- founder Emma Pollock will also appear on stage.
Live At The Longlist will also see performances from previously longlisted and lhortlisted artists, as well as a late night DJ set from Mogwai’s Stuart Braithewaite.
It’s up to 100 impartial ‘Nominators’, chosen for their specialisms in sectors including journalism, broadcast and radio, music retail and live music venues, to decide who gets the £20,000 prize.
The shortlist will be announced publicly on Thursday, August 23rd, with the awards night taking place on Thursday, September 6th. It’s difficult to say who will win, however Breakfast Muff deserve some kudos for name alone...
