It's a defining point on his new album...

Ólafur Arnalds has shared his remarkable new composition 'Woven Song'.

The Icelandic composer will release a new album later this year, with 'some kind of peace' landing on November 6th.

Begun before lockdown, the material on the project was completed by the harbour in Reykjavik, with Ólafur working from a point of seclusion.

New work 'Woven Song' is online now, and it matches his beatific, bewitching modern classical tones to a kind of child-like innocence.

A key element on the new record, it comes with a terrific video, one that interweaves with the gentle undulations of 'Woven Song' itself.

"'Woven Song' is a defining moment of ‘some kind of peace,’" Ólafur says. "A metaphor for being embraced by something larger than yourself while exploring new territories, the feeling of being held while you open your heart."

"Using an acrylic pouring process called ‘viscous fingering’ to obtain fractal shapes, Thomas Vanz has created a beautiful visual representation of the lifeline that anchors you to the world during a challenging experience."
