Acoustic At The Ryman

Band Of Horses are set to release 'Acoustic At The Ryman' on February 24th.

Band Of Horses' rise, their essential appeal, lies in their dedication to songcraft. Timeless material performed in a simple, unadorned fashion is the order of the day, with the group's breezy Southern melancholy charming audiences across the world.

Stopping just long enough for a breather, Band Of Horses have lined up a new live album. Recorded at Nashville's legendary Ryman Auditorium across two nights in April 2013, the set is a 'Greatest Hits' of sort.

Recorded in as natural a setting as possible, the group then mixed the recordings at their own hometown haunt of Charleston Sound. Mastered in DSD quality, the aim is to capture some of the atmosphere at those Spring shows.

"The game plan was to keep it wild and expressive like the show while capturing it with highest resolution available," the band's Bill Reynolds explains. "The electricity in The Ryman was off the charts. If that makes it to the listener, then we'll consider this a success".

'Acoustic At The Ryman' is set to be released on February 24th, with Band Of Horses sharing a recording of 'Neighbor'. Sparsely arranged, at times the song drops down to little more than those gilded harmonies in a superb demonstration of natural musicianship.
