For creating "new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition"...
Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan has been named the recipient of this year's Nobel Prize For Literature.

The prize is curated by a panel based in Sweden, and the winner is often kept completely under wraps until the last minute.

This year's winner has just been named as Bob Dylan, who was cited for having "created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition"

It's difficult to see past the songwriter's impact - from those early folk albums, his electric phase and beyond, Bob Dylan has proved to be one of America's most enduring voices.

Bob Dylan's most recent studio album 'Fallen Angels' was released in 2016.
