Chic will release new album 'It's About Time' in 2017.
The record - the disco project's first since 1992 - was initially announced for a 2015 release, before being pushed back.
Now due next year, 'It's About Time' will coincide with the 40th anniversary both of Chic and the opening of hedonistic disco nightspot Studio 54.
In a statement Nile explains: "In 2017, we will pay homage to the club that put us on the international map by doing a series of concerts, afterparties, VIP Packages, films and singles. Then drop the full album along with a BIG SURPRISE!"
Later, the guitarist explains that the deaths of so many prominent musicians in 2016 - including Prince, and close friend David Bowie - meant that he felt releasing new material this year was inappropriate.
"When Prince suddenly died, it was like I'd been struck by lighting twice," he said. "In 2016, I couldn't release an album about the joy of life in A Year of So Many Deaths."
