New Book And Rarities Due

Fans of American songwriter Mark "E" Everett will be spolit throughout 2008, as the artist plans to release his autobiography and a retrospective of his work wih the group Eels.

Long renowned for his mixture of sweet poppy melodies and dark lyrics, Everett has had a highly acclaimed career. Often starkly autobigraphical, the Eels album "Electro-Shock Blues" was released in 1998 and quick became a cult favourite as Everett wrote songs about his increasingly difficult personal life.

Everett's book - entitled "Things The Grandchildren Should Know" - will be released on January 17th, and that night Mark Oliver Everett will be making a special visit to St. James Church in Piccadilly, London.

A week later on January 21st Eels will be releasing their first "Best Of". With the title "Meet The Eels: Essential Eels Vol.1 , 1996-2006" the album will collect together all the best bits from an extremely varied career. A rarities album, "Eels Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks, Rarities and Unreleased 1996-2006" will be released on the same day.

Eels will return to the UK for a tour in March. The dates run as follows:

February 25th - London, Royal Festival Hall
February 26th - Birmingham, Town Hall
February 27th - Manchester, Bridgewater Hall
February 28th - Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall
March 1st - Gateshead, Sage
March 2nd - Brighton, Dome
