"Burial's one of the most wonderful people I've ever met..."
Ellie Goulding

Music is littered with unlikely collaborations, with unusual conjunctions between style, genre.

However few saw this coming. In a new interview with Billboard (via NME), folk princess turned EDM goddess Ellie Goulding has revealed she is close friends with Burial.

The enigmatic London producer rarely gives interviews and last released a full length album in 2007. Despite this, though, Burial - real name Will Bevan - has always looked out for Goulding's career.

"Burial's one of the most wonderful people I've ever met," she explained. "We stay in touch, and this sounds super weird, but he kind of looks over me in a weird way."

"He's just one of those remarkable people that you come across that are so rare, he's so shy and quiet, but he's really hard to explain," the singer continued. "I'm constantly fascinated by him. I've only had a few encounters with him, but they were really intense. I may never see him again, but we stay in touch constantly."

Burial does not make public appearances, and his quiet, insidious approach has seemingly inspired aspects of Ellie Goulding's own career. "I think it's so admirable. Obviously I make money for what I do and promote myself, but I always remember him, in everything. The nobleness of it, where you're just making music and making people happy … I use a bit of that for myself."
