Hollow Coves seem to tap into something timeless.
A project conceived in Brisbane and finished in Europe, their 2017 EP 'Wanderlust' became a refreshing breakout moment due to its gilded songwriting.
Beautifully conceived, it sparked international acclaim and saw Hollow Coves take their live show across the land.
Heading to the English countryside to work on fresh material, the band linked with producer Chris Bond.
A full album is incoming, with Hollow Coves recently sharing their heavenly single 'When We Were Young'.
Despite sounding for all the world like an Autumnal acoustic hymn there isn't a shred of nostalgia in the lyric, which urges the listener to grab hold of the moment.
“It reminisces on the simplicity of being young,” they comment “A lot of people look back with nostalgia and think, ‘I wish things were still like that’. It evokes a simpler time. However, we wanted to encourage people to change their perspective - there are always great opportunities to look forward to. Life can be beautiful right now.”
We've been handed this wonderfully affecting acoustic version, and it dazzles in its under-stated beauty.
Expertly pieced together, the slender arrangement is so suggestive, and so refreshing that it is difficult to shrug off easily.
Tune in now.
