New initiative humanises homelessness with beautifully poignant profile pieces...

New social for good project, Homeless Stories, inspired in part by the Humans Of New York initiative has generated a powerful and emotive music story that we feel warrants your attention.

Amidst the sea of new music, label budgets and brand backed initiatives it's easy to lose sight of the power of music within the community.

Away from the bright spotlights of centre-stage, there is a growing need for projects that can positively impact peoples lives by supporting and empowering them to better their circumstances, in turn inspiring a host of others to follow suit.

With austerity gripping the country and the upcoming holiday season, the homelessness epidemic across the United Kingdom will reach a critical mass with countless people young and old sleeping on the streets of our towns and cities.

Homeless Stories was setup to raise awareness and drive donations to the countless charities operating independently, providing support to those most at risk in our communities.

Working with 10 local homeless support charities so far, helping drive their fundraising efforts and further their vital work, in conjunction with Lloyds Bank Foundation who themselves support over 40 initiatives around England and Wales.

So far over 30 people from across the UK have documented their journey on video to help raise awareness with more to follow. Learn more about the ongoing initiative here and follow their work on Twitter

Tune into Kat's story now as she talks about her journey to date working with South Tyneside Key Project, accompanied by her cover of Kodaline 'All I Want', a video that also warmed the bands hearts as much as our own with them sharing across their social channels.
