Kate Tempest will release her new album 'The Book Of Trap And Lessons' on June 14th.
The spoken word artist was nominated for the Mercury with her 2017 album 'Let Them Eat Chaos', a breakout moment for the South London artist.
Heading back into the studio, Kate and collaborator Dan Carey flew out to the United States in order to work with Rick Rubin.
The legendary producer worked on her new album, with 'The Book Of Trap And Lessons' landing this summer.
New song 'Firesmoke' is online now, it's pensive, almost jazz-leaning arrangement working alongside an assured vocal from Kate Tempest.
She comments: “I think of the song like a cleansing moment in the wider context of the record, in the same way that a relationship can be a cleansing moment in the wider context of a life. A kind of a turning point. I wrote it for my woman. Inspired by her and everything that falling in love with her has taught me.”
Tune in now.
Kate Tempest will perform the album in its entirety at Catford Broadway Theatre, London on June 18th.
