Keeley Forsyth will release her debut album 'Debris' on January 17th.
The Oldham songwriter works with a rare degree of intensity, attempting to channel the feelings and emotions of her own circumstances into something coherent.
Of her methodology, the striking aesthete comments: “They’re like blocks of metal that just drop from the sky. There was a lot going on in my life that was heavy and hard. Songs were made under that moment.”
Sparse shards of minimalist sound, Keeley works on new album 'Debris' alongside pianist/composer Matthew Bourne, who aided with slices of piano and slender string arrangements.
'Debris' lands on January 17th, with the songwriter introducing it by sharing the title track. A powerful work, it comes with a video directed by Maxine Peake.
The director comments: "It’s about a rebirth, new light and clearer light. A beautiful sun, flares, falling on the surrounding flora and fauna".
Tune in now.
