Rising songwriter Annabel Allum has shared her new single 'When The Wind Stopped' - tune in now.
The artist is currently prepping her new EP, with sessions alongside Adrian Hall resulting in six brand new songs.
Due for release this Autumn, it follows some fantastic live dates, including tour supports with Nadine Shah, Beth Ditto and Alex Lahey.
New song 'When The Wind Stopped' is online now, and her playfully literate lyrical sensibility recalls Courtney Barnett, but with a slightly dreamier sound.
A song about expectations, and the importance of pushing back on society's rules, 'When The Wind Stopped' has a serious core amid the soft, melodic sounds.
She explains: "When I was a kid I had such big expectations of how life was gonna be. I think most people do. But somehow we lose track of our dreams and what we really want from life. It’s so easy to shut yourself in a societal box and put your dreams to bed. I say fuck that. If you want something, go fucking get it. Less moaning, more chasing..."
