'Slough' gets re-worked...
Toro y Moi

Toro y Moi has posted a cover of David Brent's classic ode to commuter belt life 'Slough'.

Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough!
It isn't fit for humans now,
There isn't grass to graze a cow.
Swarm over, Death!

Or, indeed, compose some chillwave tunes.

Ricky Gervais (in his David Brent guise) wrote 'Slough' for the 'The Office', that classic tale of stifled ambition and photocopiers. Clearly a fan, Toro y Moi posted a cover version this afternoon (August 15th) which re-casts the track in his own inimitable style.

Writing on Twitter, Toro y Moi wrote simply: "dear ricky, hope you like this cover. peace, chaz". Ricky Gervais was tickled by the cover, and posted it to his own followers labelling it "amazing".

A curious cover, it adds some slurpy, slowed down synths to David Brent's tale - although you have to marvel at an American voice intoning those hilarious (and utterly English) lyrics...

Listen to it below.
