More Strife For War-Torn Region

According to today's edition of The Independent Morrissey is seeking permission to play a series of concerts in the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the newspaper the singer's management is in talks with the Iranian government to allow Morrissey to travel to the country and play a one off date - with Arabic pop singer Kazem al-Sahir set to support.

Morrissey is also about to embark on a sold-out UK tour, with a six-night stint at London's legendary Roundhouse venue amongst the dates. With a new "Greatest Hits" in the pipeline, and a single "That's How People Grow Up" released on January 21st, 2008 looks to be a busy year for the Mancunian minstrel.
