Jake Gabbay directs the bold visual...

Rina Sawayama has shared a wonderful new acoustic version of her single 'Cherry'.

An incredible pop statement, 'Cherry' managed to be both an out-right bop while also exploring a more nuanced view of female sexuality.

A lucid, intoxicating pan-sexual treatise, 'Cherry' was one of Rina's most personal statements.

She told Broadly on its release last year: “I've always written songs about girls. I don't think I've ever mentioned a guy in my songs, and that's why I wanted to talk about it. For me there's still a lack of representation. I just think the reason why I wasn't so comfortable with my sexuality was because there was no one on TV or anywhere that I could point at and go, "Look mum! This person is what I was talking about!"”

This new video finds Rina twisting 'Cherry' in a fresh direction, a stripped back, piano-laden performance dominated by that incredible vocal.

Jake Gabbay directs the video, and you can watch it below.
