Alongside Robbie Williams, The 1975, Little Mix and Emeli Sandé...

Skepta is set to perform at this year's BRIT Awards.

What a difference a year makes...

In 2016 the overwhelming reaction to the BRIT Awards was that it was simply too white.

The hashtag #BRITsSoWhite quickly went viral, prompting the awards committee to overhaul the structure of the voting system.

Just 12 months on, substantial progress has been made. The nominations feel truly reflective of British music, and it could well mark representation of grime's emphatic success.

With that in mind, Skepta's performance at the BRITs could well be a moment to remember. The grime don is nominated for British Breakthrough Act, Album Of The Year, and British Male Solo Artist.

Set to perform at the lavish event, Skepta joins Bruno Mars on a line up that also features Robbie Williams, The 1975, Little Mix and Emeli Sandé.

BRIT Awards 2017 takes place on February 22nd.
