Unusual Covers Album Announced

Cult US indie label Thrill Jockey have announced a new, limited edition, box set of 7 inch singles. The box set will be comprised of bands from the label covering other Thrill Jockey acts, and will feature re-workings by Tortoise, Arbouretum, The Fiery Furnaces and Bobby Conn.

Thrill Jockey was founded on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 1992 and since then has released critically acclaimed works such as “Millions Now Living Will Never Die” by the post-rock group Tortoise. The label has defiantly developed on its own terms, now boasting a roster that spreads across genres and age groups.

Although Thrill Jockey began by releasing 7 inches, in the intervening years there have been little of that format released. This box set looks like a good way for the label to look to its roots, and showcase its current talent.
