...and he's wearing a dress
Ringo Starr

Ringo Starr is no stranger to children's entertainment.

After all, his two main vocal contributions to the Beatles - 'Yellow Submarine' and 'Octopus' Garden' - were both intended as songs for kids.

Once the narrator for 'Thomas The Tank Engine', Ringo Starr is set to appear in a new episode of revitalised children's show 'The Powerpuff Girls'.

Following the adventures of a group of superheroes/musicians, the drummer makes a guest appearance in cartoon form - at one point singing "I wish I was a Power Puff Girl, I'd fly through the sky, shoot sparkly stars out of my eyes".

It's a little odd: sure, Ringo's voice and cheerful demeanour suit the cartoon treatment... but did he really have to wear a skirt?

The new series of 'The Powerpuff Girls' kicks off on American television on January 20th.
