Over Black Panther single 'Pray For Me'...

Yeasayer are taking legal action against Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd.

The band split at the end of last year, but remain protective of their work and legacy.

TMZ reports that the Brooklyn trio are suing Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd, alleging that their copyright has been infringed.

The case states that the Black Panther collaboration 'Pray For Me' comes too close to Yeasayer's own work 'Sunrise'.

According to documents Pitchfork has seen the Kendrick Lamar, Weeknd collaboration lifts the "distinctive choral performance" from 'Sunrise', deemed: "Male voices singing in their highest registers, with animated, pulsing vibrato..."

Neither Kendrick Lamar or The Weeknd have responded as yet. Compare and contrast both songs below.
