'Scarred For Life' (Sakarias 86 & Dante Remix)
Sabina Ddumba

In a way, Sabina Ddumba was born with music in her veins.

Growing up with Ugandan heritage, the singer's life was filled with music from an early age. Working as a backing singer with the likes of Jenny Lewis and little known (ahem) American artist Katy Perry, Sabina Ddumba is now ready to step out under her own steam.

New single 'Scarred For Life' is about the impact the collapse of a relationship can have on a person. Almost painfully honest, the lyrics pick apart the emotional carnage with frightening accuracy: "cuts are getting deeper, you really fucked me up this time".

The clipped, cool production sits against her soulful vocal, with Sabina Ddumba recalling the early promise of Jessie Ware or even Canadian newcomer Black Atlass.

Sakarias 86 and Dante pair up on a new remix, which pairs down the Swedish artist's voice to create something quite dark. The production becomes murky, threatening with the androgynous feel of the pitched vocal revealing a new layer to the song.
