Only A Bullet Knows Where To Run

The piano is an oft-underused rock 'n' roll instrument.

Yet a hardy few are attempting its resurrection. CHAMPS place black 'n' white keys at the centre of their songcraft, using the piano are a vessel for their own longing, yearning artistry.

Focussing on brothers Michael and David Champion, CHAMPS introduced themselves with via the new 'Savannah' single. Heading out on tour, the group revealed that the track's contagious melancholy was far from a one off.

Completing work on their debut album, CHAMPS are set to release the full length through Play It Again Sam early next year. Ahead of this, Clash is able to present something a little special from the duo.

'Only A Bullet Knows Where To Run' is soft, plangent songwriting, with the piano sitting at the centre of the track. However the arrangement is far broader, with CHAMPS utilising some nice electronic effects to soften the edge of their voices.

Listen to it now.
