Holy Esque

A band I'm listening to a lot right now is a Glasgow band called Holy Esque.

I first heard them last year on Vic Galloway's show on BBC Scotland and then saw them perform at the SAY Award ceremony in Glasgow. I was totally blown away when seeing them live. The singer's voice reminds me of Alec Ounsworth of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse and the music is a perfect backing for him.

It's loud and crashing but also still melodic which is something really important to me. They're heading out to SXSW this year and I think the rest of the year will be very good for these guys. Keep an eye out for them and meanwhile listen to this. The opening melody is very addictive.
