Lovepark are difficult to describe.
For starters, the band have (at least) three home towns: Brighton, London and Burgess Hill. Then there's that sound: at once classic and quite new, it hints at jagged post-punk whilst also retaining a fondness for the heritage of true songcraft.
As yet, there's only a few tracks online. Lovepark's breakthrough cut 'Jester' earned some Radio 1 plays, while forthcoming EP '21/12' aims to expand on this early hype.
Having previously worked with Sean Woodlock and Charlie Andrews - the man responsible for alt-j's Mercury Prize winning debut album - the band decided to produce this Snaketown Records EP themselves.
So no pressure, then...
Clash is able to bring you the title track of Lovepark's new EP before anyone else. Clocking it at a little more than three minutes, it's a concise, precise statement from a band who are already proving to be full of surprises.
Check it out now.
