'Untitled Melody'
Great Ytene

The launchpad for countless gems, Marshall Teller has a good claim on the heartbeat of indie music in the capital.

A sterling label, the team at Marshall Teller recently toasted their fifth birthday. Deciding to treat fans, the imprint has pieced together its very first compilation which arrives on August 11th.

'Broken Records Vol. 1' features brand new recordings from old friends such as The History Of Apple Pie, Echo Lake and Cheatahs.

Great Ytene cut their teeth at the label, before signing to Bella Union for their wonderful self-titled EP. Agreeing to work with Marshall Teller on their new compilation, the band have decided to tackle an indie gem.

'Untitled Melody' is a wonderfully witty, rhythmically faltering classic from Orange Juice. Smoothing out some of the rough edges, Great Ytene deliver a shoegaze inspired re-work which is respectful while also taking the track in a fresh direction.
