Black Mambo
Glass Animals

Slow down.

Everything in life is getting quicker. From technology to traffic, hair loss to weight gain it seems that each day brings a successive problem, piling high up into an already polluted sky.

Which is why it can nice to be along, to be secluded away from the city rush. Glass Animals are clearly coming from the same place, with their output thus far speaking of a rare sense of solitude.

Hushed, late night tales which nods towards electronic whilst retaining a 'traditional' rock format, the band have been toying with us for some time. An EP on cult imprint Kaya Kaya whetted appetites, before the band decided to hole themselves up in a studio located in the dense Oxfordshire woodland.

Looking inwards, the band have found renewed inspiration. New single 'Black Mambo' / 'Exxus' will be released next month through Paul Epworth's Wolf Tone label, a small but weighty document which sparks new ideas, ponders fresh questions.

'Black Mambo' opens with a gently plucked guitar, all percussive strikes and plectrum stabs. Evolving, oozing into new shapes this is a slow burning track which seems to take equal inspiration from Radiohead and 90s R&B.

Seductive and difficult to shrug off, ClashMusic are delighted to bring you the exclusive first play.
