There's something happening in British indie music right now.
There's this renewed energy, this rejuvenated sense of confidence - oh, and a whole lot of great music is being released.
Take Junodream. Sounding not unlike early Blur with touches of shoegaze, their impeccable songwriting has caused a storm of underground hype.
Maccabees and YALA! Records co-founder Felix White said on Beats: "It’s in the lineage of great British music isn’t it? Love it!"
A full EP is incoming alongside a London headline show, with Junodream now sharing a live in-the-studio version of their precocious cut 'Nobody Wants You'.
Opening with that blizzard of guitar notes, 'Nobody Wants You' builds into this crisp, supremely British slice of indie, with a killer chorus.
"'Nobody Wants You' is the tug-of-war with the voice in your head that's telling you you’re shit. Like a struggle for control of the steering wheel, before you jump the bridge” explains the band's Dougal Gray.
“The song had been in the tank for a while, but we could never find the right middle section. We were in Bristol, angrily thrashing around trying to find something, and then it all came together with that one extra beat. We will forever know this song as ‘Beats'."
Tune in now.
