There's this myth about The Fall that Mark E Smith was hiring and firing on an hourly basis.
The truth is a bit more prosaic. Sure, the old adage about him and your Gran on bongos holds water, but truly The Fall worked at their best when it was a stable, and lasting unit.
The band's final line up was actually one of their best, releasing some exceptionally fine, and always brave, music in the process.
New group Imperial Wax boast three veterans of The Fall in their line up, each sharing some 11 years experience in the legendary band.
Lining up as Sam Curran and Keiron Melling, Dave Spurr and Pete Greenway, Imperial Wax make a fine racket of their own, with new album 'Gastwerk Saboteurs' out now via Saustex Records.
Crunching noise rock with a muscular post-rock sensibility, the album wipes the floor with sundry much younger and much more hyped contemporaries.
We're able to share the video for 'Art Of Projection' and it's a fine affair, the dense array of edits linking to the all-out confusion induced by their raucous endeavour.
Tune in now.
