Spine tingling stuff...
The National

Back once again, the new series of Later... seems to have a point to prove.

For every big gun - Sir Paul McCartney, anyone? - there have been a handful of new performers, left field acts who blossom with the attention. Returning last night (October 29th) the line up included newcomers London Grammar and globally successful blues artist John Mayer.

For many, though, The National stole the show. An always wonderful live act, the band simply plugged in and treated the whole affair as if it was an intimate concert - supplying a little deft experimentation to boot.

Performing 'Don't Swallow The Cap' and 'Sea Of Love' it's the latter which has caught our attention. Definitely drawn from the noisier end of The National's output, 'Sea Of Love' is given a visceral, tortured rendition with Matt Berninger almost - but not quite - being drowned out by his comrades.

Check it out now.
