Because you should, because it’s great…

Hey look. Someone’s throwing an ace party in the Yorkshire Dales. Wanna go? Course you do…

Where: The Funkirk Estate, Skipton, North Yorkshire. And you can’t spell Funkirk without the funk.

Why go? Great line-up, spectacular location, good people, great nosh. All the ingredients are in place. Pizza and punk-rock, craft ales and ambient electronica, the best burgers and most boisterous rap. Get it while it’s hot.

Confirmed acts for 2014 include: Darkside, Daughter, Jon Hopkins, Action Bronson, Charli XCX, Erol Alkan, The Fall, Nightmares On Wax, Joy Orbison, Hookworms, Eagulls, Dam-Funk, Neneh Cherry & Rocketnumbernine, Cate Le Bon, Joanna Gruesome, PINS, King Creosote, John Wizards, The Wytches, XXYYXX, Melt Yourself Down, Money, Girl Band, Traams, Moko, TOY, Submotion Orchestra, Jackmaster, Rejjie Snow, Daniel Avery… and many more.

Looks alright, doesn’t it? Ha! That’s where you’re wrong, because Beacons is better than alright. It’s bloody ace, and if you miss out, yr some kind of fool, we tells ya. It’s not the biggest festival on the British schedule, nor the loudest. But it does remain, almost, one of those brilliant little secrets that you don’t want to tell everyone about. Oh, whoops.

Tickets are available here – but, if you wanna take a chance, you can win a pair by entering our competition. It’s so simple. If you’re over 18, and you wanna go, just fill out the form below and then we’ll let you know if you’ve won no later than July 18th. Note, please, that the prize is tickets only – and we’ve two pairs to give away. We’re not going to fly you to the site, pick up your bar tab, or put your favourite mac through dry cleaning afterwards. Those, friends, are your burdens to bear. Good luck!
